The Brief is live on the App Store at version 1.0.1 with a finite queue, source attribution, evidence context and intensity controls.
Behind the build
The Brief combines a native SwiftUI application with a Cloudflare Worker and R2-backed content pipeline. Codable models keep briefings, stories, sources, framing checks, evidence checks and user preferences explicit. A local file cache keeps the most recent briefing readable when the network is unavailable.
The ingestion lane is deliberately bounded: public reporting is stored with source records, corroboration and updates rather than treated as instant truth. Tests cover decoding, persistence, reading state, calm-text timing and neutrality guardrails. The interface keeps source transparency, uncertainty and meaningful corrections close to the story.
I built the iOS product, backend contract, finite briefing model, editorial automation, subscription scaffolding, offline behaviour and release path. Version 1.0.1 is live on the App Store as a deliberately quieter alternative to an endless feed.
